Free Trader Agreement
In North Carolina even when a deed only grants ownership in real property to one person, if that person is married, the spouse has marital interest and is required to sign the deed when the property is transferred. These are used most frequently, when a married couple is separated, and one or the other wants to buy a new home, because in the eyes of the law when the parties separated and not divorced, they are still married. Free Trader Agreements allow the parties to buy or sell the property without the spouse being required to join in the transaction.
